Peace River (Crews Park)

From Ocala, take I-75 south towards Tampa about 90 miles to Exit 257 (Adamo Dr E/ SR60E)

Turn left (east) on to SR60 E and go about 35 miles to the intersection of SR-60 E and US-17S/US-98E in Bartow, Fl.

Turn right (south) at US-17S/US-98E and follow US-17S for about 25 miles to the intersection of US-17S and CR 636.

Turn east (left) on CR 636 about 1 mile to the park entrance on the left just before the bridge.
It'll look like a large field with homes to the south (left) as you drive in with the ramp at the end.
Peace River (Pioneer Park)

Turn left (east) on to SR60 E and go about 35 miles to the intersection of SR-60 E and US-17S/US-98E in Bartow, Fl.

Turn right (south) at US-17S/US-98E and follow US-17S for about 29 miles to the intersection of US-17S and Florida Cracker Trail/SR-64 in Zolfo Springs, FL

Turn right (west) on to Florida Cracker Trail/SR-64 to the entrance of Pioneer Park on your right.
This is a nice campground to use, instead of driving down so early in the morning.
The distance between these two areas (downstream from Crews to Pioneer) is not long, however, when the water is low, old fossils (sharks teeth, etc.) might be seen on the sands.
When water is low expect to have to portage your boat some - sand and limerock. Due to frolicking in the sand, swimming and portaging expect a full day.
