This is a solid 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 hour drive from Ocala, 195 miles, so plan accordingly


  • Take US 27 west to Chiefland (~50 miles). 
  • Turn right (north/west) onto US 27/ US 19 / US 98 to Perry (~66 miles). 
  • Turn left (west) onto US 98/SR 30 to US 319 Wakulla (~53 miles). 
  • When reach US 319 , it is a "T" intersection and you will go straight,
    you will still be on US 98 and SR 30 and about 1.5 miles later turn right, remaining on US 319 till you reach Sopchoppy (~5.5 miles),
  • where you will make a left, remaining on US 319 and now CR 377.
  • Continue south for ~4.5 miles, turn left on Ochlockonee River State Park road,  about (~) 1 mile later you are at park entrance.

STONE AGE AND PRIMITIVE ARTS FESTIVAL

The Department of Environmental Protection’s Ochlockonee River State Park is pleased to announce the fifth annual presentation of our Stone Age and Primitive Arts Festival. This program is designed to introduce visitors to primitive arts through family interaction. Participants and their families will experience demonstrations in flint knapping and the art of projectile point fashioning, along with deer hide tanning and bone, wood and antler carving. Please dress appropriately for a cool morning near the confluence of the Ochlockonee and Dead Rivers.
