Ocklawaha Rays Wayside to Gores Landing Tc for today was Phyllis Clark 11-17-12 We launched from Rays Wayside. There was a chill in the air and over cast skys. The Ocklawaha River runs north until it joins the St. Johns River. In the 19th century and early 20th century steamboats like the famous Hart Line operated on this river. The river was used as an early highway. We use it for our pleasure. We saw a few small allagators, some reeses monkey's, turtles and a lot of wildflowers. We reached Gores Landing and loaded our boats. Some of us went for a bite to eat at Charlie Horse. This was a perfect day to be out in the fresh air. I hope to see you out paddling soon.
