The wind was blowing and the sun was hot. A perfect day for the sunscreen. We paddled hard to make our way over to the Gulf Preserve. It was nice to have a good challenge for a change.
We arrived at the park and tied our boats up by the dock. We had fun figuring out how to get from our kayaks up onto the dock. One by one we climbed up onto the deck of the dock. We hiked down a trail and came upon an observation tower which we all climbed. We climbed up and we climbed down again. The view was beautiful over looking the salt marshs. We came upon a building with screens and shade. We spent a while resting there. We began our return trip. The paddle back was not as hard, the wind was not fighting us any longer.
We had lunch at Ike's Old Florida Kitchen at IZAAK Walton Lodge. The food was tasty. The people were fun and the conversations was of interest to all of us. This was just a great trip. Thank you Don Papp, the tc, for today....Sandie
